The pace at which new information is being added to health sciences, it is important that practitioners of health care have access to a platform that helps them to remain updated with the advances in the medical sciences. A scientific peer-reviewed journal is one such medium of remaining updated. Scientific journals range from those focussed on specialities or subspecialities to the more general healthcare journals that address the needs of the large proportion of generalists in health care. There are hybrids which have a component of both specialities and general healthcare issues. The MAMC Journal of Medical Sciences probably is a best fit in the hybrid model. This journal has articles or case reports that are targeted to a large heterogeneous population of healthcare providers, including issues related to scientific research methods. Dissemination of information and of evidence in health care is a stated objective of any premier medical school, and this journal in part attempts to fulfill the stated objective of the institution. As the infant journal grows into its childhood and adolescence, it is hoped that the variety and quality of articles published will keep evolving and improving, and it would address the prevalent national health issues. India’s National Health Policy, including those related to medical education in the country, has generated debates across the country, and the journal will in the near future offer debates and perspectives on these issues allowing the readers to respond and share a platform for health discussion and debate. The strength of a journal is reflected in its readership and their responses to published articles and national health issues. We would like to witness more interactions and responses from our readers to what the journal publishes. We also invite our readers to share their perspectives on burning national health issues. The journal and the Editorial team are only the medium, but our stakeholders are the readers, and it is your active participation we look forward to for elevating the journal to high standards.
